[UPDATE - we no longer sell Pro-Ject turntables. Please visit our turntables page to explore our other audio brands]

Pro-Ject turntables made a big impact when they hit the market in the 1990s. For the first time in a very long time, music lovers could by very high quality, well built European-made turntables for affordable prices. With their factory in the Czech Republic having a 50 year history of making quality turntables, Austrian company Pro-Ject Audio Systems were able to bring this quality to the world.

We've got a wide range of Pro-Ject turntables on display, including:

Debut Carbon DC ($599) In line with turntables with a much higher price tag, the Debut Carbon DC has a carbon fibre tonearm and heavy platter to reduce resonance for smooth, clear music, and comes pre-fitted with the Ortofon OM10 cartridge to match. It now has a DC power supply for more precise speed stability and reduced vibrations.

Essential II USB ($549) Sometimes, you don't need frills. You don't need all the bells and whistles. It's not about flashy designs, unnecessary innovations or reinventing the wheel. Sometimes, you just need the essentials, done right. Our first Essential turntable was released just for this purpose. It was the 'everything you need, nothing you don't' turntable. And now we've updated it for even easier use and better performance with the Pro-Ject Essential II Phono USB.

1Xpression Carbon Classic DC ($1,399) Following on from a prestigious series, the 1Xpression Carbon Classic is the 6th generation of the classic Pro-Ject 1, presented for the first time way back in 1991. The current version of our iconic turntable includes a totally new carbon tone-arm with spin-off EVO technology. The innovative new gimbal design features a resonance damping counterweight for the best performance with any cartridge. 1xpression carabon classic dc 6 PerspeX ($2,499) The 6perspeX Turntable comes with Pro-Ject's carbon fibre 9cc Evolution tonearm, delivering a superb sound through its resonance-free Corean sub-chassis and magnetic-power assembly.

Xtension 9 Evolution ($3,499) The Xtension 9 chassis is made from MDF filled with metal granulate for high mass that virtually nulls resonance. Magnetic feet, which decouple the main plinth from its base, are combined with a weighty 16kg total turntable mass. The result is a unique combination of 'mass loaded' and 'floating turntable' design principles. Instead of pure metal for the main platter, it uses a perfect alloy damped with thermo plastic elastomers (TPE). The final product subsequently benefits from a wonderfully resonance-free, heavy platter, that runs ultra-silently on an inverted ceramic ball bearing with magnetic suspension. The Xtension 9 Evolution includes a top-class 9cc Evolution tonearm and comes complete with a dust cover.
